Health & Medical Blog

If you've been diagnosed with a spinal deformity, now's the time to talk to your doctor about the benefits of spinal surgery. If you're worried about the recovery period, don't be. Minimally-invasive spinal surgery can repair the deformity, with a lengthy recovery period. And, without visible scarring. If you've decided to postpone spinal surgery, read the list provided below. You'll find four ways that spinal deformity surgery will benefit your life.

Increase Physical Activity

If you have a deformed spine, there might be activities that you can't take part in. Some of those activities include impact sports, dancing, and weight lifting. Activities that focus on one side of your body should also be avoided. Those types of activities include tennis and golf. That's where spinal deformity surgery becomes beneficial. Spinal deformity surgery will allow you to become more physically active.

Improve Digestive Health

If you have spinal deformities, you could suffer from digestive problems. Spinal deformities can limit the space for your digestive tract. This lack of space can lead to constipation, heartburn, and acid reflux. Luckily, there's a way to reduce the risk of these complications. Spinal deformity surgery can restore your spine to proper alignment. This will increase the space for your digestive tract, which will improve your digestive health.

Reduce Back and Neck Pain

If spinal deformities cause you to experience back and neck pain, it's time to talk to your doctor about surgical options. Spinal deformities can cause increased pain in your back, spine, and neck. You could take prescription medication, but that's a temporary fix. Not only that, but opioid medications increase your risk for addiction. That's why spinal deformity is a better option. Surgical treatment will provide permanent relief from deformity-related back and neck pain.

Enhance Self-Confidence

If you haven't gotten treatment for your spinal deformities, your self-image and self-confidence could be affected. When you have curvatures of the spine, your clothes might not fit properly. Curvatures of the spine can also affect your posture. These issues can undermine your self-confidence and your self-image. That's why you need to talk to your doctor about spinal deformity surgery. Once you've had spinal deformity surgery your clothes will fit better, and your posture will improve. These changes can enhance your self-confidence, and restore your self-image.

Don't let spinal deformities have a negative effect on your daily life. Talk to your doctor about the benefits of spinal deformity surgery.

Staying in Great Health Requires Exercise

My parents taught me healthy eating habits and I played outside a lot as a kid. Once I was old enough to work, I got a job as a waiter at a restaurant and kept waiting tables throughout high school and college. After college, I got my very first desk job, and my health started declining. I soon realized that even though I had never stepped foot in a gym, I was living a sedentary lifestyle for the first time in my life. I wasn't getting exercise playing outside or running around at work, so I decided to commit to going to the gym. My health began to improve and I now greatly enjoy bodybuilding. I know many other people are in ill health and can't figure out why, so I decided to start a blog to share my health tips and inspire everyone improve their health!
